Job summary

UPMC in Central PA seeks a board-certified (board-eligible) full-time outpatient Anesthesiologist to join a robust ambulatory surgical network in Mechanicsburg, PA. The role includes a mix of physician-only anesthesia and anesthesia care team models, with emphasis on pediatric cases and ultrasound-guided regional techniques.

The ideal candidate will have completed an accredited anesthesia program, be able to obtain PA licensure, and hold or be able to obtain narcotics certificates.

Qualifications

• Must have completed anesthesia training and be able to obtain PA license.
• Experience with pediatric and regional anesthesia is highly preferred.
• Ability to obtain federal and state narcotics certificates.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia for outpatient ambulatory centers with no on-call nights, weekends, or holidays.
• Willing to provide inpatient coverage if needed.
• Work in a mix of physician-only and anesthesia care team models across sites.

Our Anesthesiology team includes a full complement of CRNAs and physician Anesthesiologists. Job Opportunity

• Network of seven hospitals and 160 outpatient and primary care clinics
• Collegial staff of Physicians, Advanced Practice Partners, Registered Nurses, and Medical Assistants
• Outpatient practice covering multiple ambulatory surgery and procedure centers with no call, nights, weekends, or holiday coverage responsibilities
• Willingness to provide inpatient coverage if needed
• Mix of independent physician-only anesthesia practice and anesthesia care team model depending on site and case type
• High-volume pediatric anesthesia for healthy children ≥ 6 months of age
• EPIC Electronic Medical Record system
• Fabias GS technology (New GE machines dependent on location)

Qualifications

• Experienced providers strongly preferred; new graduates with appropriate training and interest in outpatient pediatric and regional anesthesia encouraged to apply
• Graduate of an accredited Anesthesia program
• Ability to acquire a license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania
• Must be able to obtain valid federal and state narcotics certificates
• Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients close to home
• Comfortable with a wide variety of cases
• Demonstrated experience and comfort with high-volume pediatric anesthesia, including healthy children age 6 months or older
• Proficiency with ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia techniques for orthopedic and ambulatory procedures
• Ability to practice both independently as a physician-only anesthesiologist and within an anesthesia care team model
