UPMC in Central PA seeks a board-certified (board eligible) full-time outpatient Anesthesiologist to join our team in Mechanicsburg, PA, covering multiple ambulatory locations. The role supports a mix of independent practice and anesthesia care team models with opportunities for inpatient coverage.

The ideal candidate will have ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia skills, experience with high-volume cases, and a commitment to high-quality patient care in a busy ambulatory setting.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Anesthesiology.
• Graduate of an accredited anesthesia program.
• Ability to obtain a Pennsylvania medical license and narcotics certificates.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient anesthesia coverage across ambulatory centers.
• Participate in a mix of independent physician-only and anesthesia care team models.
• Deliver anesthesia for high-volume pediatric cases (healthy children ≥6 months).
• Inpatient coverage if needed and support across sites.

UPMC in Central PA is currently seeking a board certified (board eligible) full-time outpatient Anesthesiologist to join our experienced team in Mechanicsburg, PA, providing coverage across multiple ambulatory locations. Our Anesthesiology team includes full complement of CRNAs and physician Anesthesiologists. The ideal candidate will enjoy a rewarding opportunity to deliver quality care to our surgical patients in a robust, continually growing, and complex ambulatory surgical environment.

Job Opportunity

• Network of seven hospitals and 160 outpatient and primary care clinics
• Collegial staff of Physicians, Advanced Practice Partners, Registered Nurses, and Medical Assistants.
• Outpatient practice covering multiple ambulatory surgery and procedure centers with no call, nights, weekends, or holiday coverage responsibilities
• Willingness to provide inpatient coverage if needed
• Mix of independent physician-only anesthesia practice and anesthesia care team model depending on site and case type
• High-volume pediatric anesthesia for healthy children ≥ 6 months of age
• EPIC Electronic Medical Record system
• Fabias GS technology (New GE machines dependent on location)

Desired Candidate

• Experienced providers strongly preferred; new graduates with appropriate training and interest in outpatient and regional anesthesia encouraged to apply
• Graduate of an accredited Anesthesia program
• Ability to acquire a license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania
• Must be able to obtain valid federal and state narcotics certificates
• Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients close to home
• Comfortable with a wide variety of cases
• Demonstrated experience and comfort with high-volume anesthesia.
• Proficiency with ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia techniques for orthopedic and ambulatory procedures
• Ability to practice both independently as a physician-only anesthesiologist and within an anesthesia care team model
