Qualifications

• Board eligible or Board certified as a Physician (American Board of Anesthesiology or American Osteopathic Anesthesia Association).
• Valid State of New Jersey Medical, CDS and DEA license.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Administers or supervises anesthesia for all types of procedures where qualifications allow. Manage anesthetic plan and perioperative care.
• Provide general, regional, local and monitored anesthesia care services, including induction, maintenance and emergence.
• Care for neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients and address age-specific needs.
• Conduct clinical teaching to residents, medical students and nurse anesthetists on airway management and physiology.
• Respond to emergencies with airway management and emergency medications per ACLS protocols.
• Review patient charts including history, exam and diagnostics to guide anesthetic care.
• Implement anesthetic plan based on patient assessment and monitor status continuously.
• Comply with departmental policies, safety and infection control requirements.
• Be available for off-hours emergency coverage and research interests.
