Job description

Seeking fully trained U.S. board eligible/certified and licensed Anesthesiologist for full-time opportunities.

(Not a remote or telemedicine position. Various onsite positions throughout the world at military installations.)

Navy medicine has an opportunity for you to serve full time as an Anesthesiologist. As a Navy physician you will enjoy an accelerated career track, while caring for the medical needs of the brave men and women who serve our country, their families and other eligible beneficiaries who have served. It is a great responsibility—and an honor—of the highest order. The rewards for meeting such challenges are, of course, also great.

Navy healthcare offers the ability to focus on the finer points of medicine in state-of-the-art facilities, without the financial and business complications of a private practice (i.e., start-up costs, malpractice insurance, staffing, equipment, office management, etc.).

You may also take part in humanitarian relief efforts stateside and around the world collaborating with fellow military doctors and other healthcare professionals, while partnering with organizations, such as FEMA, USAID, and Project Hope.

Incentives:
  • May qualify for a sign-on bonus of $600,000 if fully trained
  • A categorically matched resident may be eligible for a $45,000 annual grant and a monthly stipend of $2,728.
  • Dependent Identification Cards – Dependents access to commissary, exchange, and recreation facilities
  • Serviceman’s Group Life Insurance – up to $500,000
  • Dental Insurance – Enroll you and your family in Tricare Dental with low monthly premiums
  • Health Insurance – Enroll in Tricare for you and your family
  • Thrift Savings Plan – Take advantage of this tax-deferred optional retirement plan
  • Base Facilities, Commissary, and Exchange access – Have access to recreational facilities and exchanges
  • Travel – Travel Space Available on military aircraft from certain military bases at a low fee
  • Retirement – Eligible for retirement benefits if able to complete 20 years of commissioned or creditable service by age 62
  • Post 9/11 GI Bill – Provides educational benefits to fulfill your educational needs or may be transferable to eligible family members
  • Home Loans – Department of Veterans Affairs Home Loan Guarantee Program after a period of service
  • Maternal and Paternal Leave – Twelve weeks of paid maternity leave provided on top of any time needed for convalescent leave during/after pregnancy. Twelve weeks of paternity leave if your spouse is also active duty. Six months to one year deferment from PCS/change of duty station, PT/physical fitness test, or deployment after delivery of a child.
Minimum Requirements:
  • A United States citizen (born in the U.S. or naturalized)
  • Currently practicing
  • Between the ages of 21 and 64
  • Meet the U.S. Navy’s physical, legal, security screening and credential requirements

Reserve (Part-time) positions may also exist that may also qualify for a bonus determined by specialty. Categorically matched Residents may also be considered for both full-time and part-time positions.
