Job summary

Redington Fairview General Hospital in rural Maine seeks a skilled Anesthesiologist for a full-time, exempt role. You will provide general, regional, and local anesthesia, perform comprehensive preoperative evaluations, and ensure safe anesthesia care across surgical and procedural settings.

You will monitor patients during procedures, manage postoperative pain, and document care while collaborating with surgeons and nurses to optimize outcomes. Visa candidates are welcome.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree and board eligibility/Certification in Anesthesiology.
• Completion of an accredited Anesthesiology residency program.
• Maine state medical license or eligibility to obtain license.
• ACLS & PALS certifications.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Administer general, regional, and local anesthesia for various procedures.
• Preoperative evaluation including history review and risk assessment.
• Monitor patients intraoperatively for safety and stability.
• Manage postoperative pain and recovery from anesthesia.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and clinicians to implement care plans.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and participate in 1:4 call rotation.

Redington Fairview General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Anesthesiologist to join our medical team. In this role, you will provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for our surgical and procedural settings. You’ll collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other clinicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes and an exceptional care experience.

Position Overview

• Administer general, regional, and local anesthesia for surgical and non-surgical procedures
• Evaluate patients preoperatively, including medical history review and anesthesia risk assessment
• Monitor patients during procedures to ensure safety, comfort, and stability
• Manage postoperative pain and oversee recovery from anesthesia
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation
• Participate in call 1:4 call rotation- Joining 3 full-time Anesthesiologists and 1 full-time Nurse Anesthetist

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Completion of an accredited Anesthesiology residency program
• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Anesthesiology (eligibility timeframe set by the Anesthesia board)
• Valid and unrestricted Maine state medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and attention to detail
• Commitment to patient safety, teamwork, and continuous learning
• Current ACLS & PALS
