Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a board-certified/eligible Anesthesiologist to join a regional practice serving Coastal Maine communities. The successful candidate will provide anesthesia care across Pen Bay Hospital in Rockport/Belfast, collaborating with CRNAs and a supportive team in a high-volume setting with modern Epic EMR.

You'll participate in pre-anesthesia evaluations, contribute to patient care planning, and support a 1:2 or 1:3 staffing model with weekday and 24/7 weekend call.

Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited medical school.
• State ME medical license active or ability to obtain prior to employment.
• Board Certification/Eligibility.
• Active DEA license or ability to obtain prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care across Pen Bay Hospital and Waldo Hospital in coastal Maine.
• Collaborate with CRNAs and anesthesia care team to ensure patient safety.
• Participate in pre-anesthesia evaluations and care planning.
• Remain available for intraoperative consultation and intervention during procedures.

Waldo Hospital and Pen Bay Hospital are seeking a board certified/eligible Anesthesiologist. The successful candidate will assist in the exciting opportunity to join a regional practice serving our Coastal Maine communities. Candidates will work in a very collegial atmosphere working alongside great support staff and seasoned providers. The primary hospital campus, Pen Bay Hospital, includes coverage across 5-6 sites which supports a wide range of surgical specialties, including:

• Endoscopy
• OB/GYN
• Orthopedics
• General Surgery/Robotics
• Urology
• Ophthalmology
• Healthy Pediatrics

Medical Direction Staffing Model:

• 1:2 or 1:3 staffing model
• Weekday hours are 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM Monday-Friday
• Weekday Call is 4:00 PM – 7:00 AM Monday-Friday
• 24/hour Weekend Call Saturday and Sunday

The secondary hospital campus, Waldo Hospital, includes coverage across 3 sites with services including:

• Endoscopy
• Orthopedics
• Ophthalmology
• General Surgery
• Healthy Pediatrics

Medical Direction Staffing Model:

• 1:2 or 1:3 staffing model
• Weekday hours are 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM Monday - Friday
• Weekday Call is 4:00 PM – 7:00 AM Monday-Thursday only

The Anesthesia Department utilizes a Medical Direction Model that consists of:

• Providing clinical oversight of CRNAs and anesthesia care team members.
• Participation in pre-anesthesia evaluations and care planning.
• Remaining immediately available for consultation and intervention during procedures.
• Assisting with induction, emergence, or critical portions of anesthesia care when appropriate.

This Position Offers:

The annual base salary for this position is $550,000.
