Job Description: Staff Anesthesiologist at Eastern Oklahoma VA Healthcare System

The Eastern Oklahoma VA Healthcare System (EOVAHCS) is seeking a Staff Anesthesiologist Physician to serve as a Nation’s Hero at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center in Muskogee, OK. The ideal candidate will enjoy a busy, clinical practice and be board certified or eligible in General Anesthesiology.

The Staff Physician may have teaching opportunities through our affiliations with Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (OSUCOM) and the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine (OUCOM). Qualified applicants will possess an MD or DO, hold a current medical license, and be board-certified or eligible in Anesthesiology.

The role involves coverage of general surgery, orthopedics, knee and shoulder arthroplasty, ophthalmology, and urology, including vascular cases. No heart, neurology, or trauma cases are involved. The team works closely with CRNAs, with approximately 90% supervision and 10% performing independent cases.

Work Schedule

Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with backup call from home, aiming for Q3 in 2023. To date, no call has been required during backup periods.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or unable to find a U.S. citizen candidate
• Current, full, unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
• Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology

• Salary range: $300,000 - $350,000, depending on experience and market
