Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking an Anesthesia Veterinary Technician to support anesthesia protocols, monitor patients, and assist with recovery. This role includes IV catheter placement, intubation, and ongoing patient care in a team-oriented emergency and specialty setting.

We offer a compensation range of $20.00–$40.00 per hour, dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system, plus extensive benefits and growth opportunities within the Mars Veterinary Health

Qualifications

• Ability to manage patient records and recovery processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in anesthesia-related procedures and formulate plans.
• Monitor anesthesia, troubleshoot complications, and intervene as needed.
• Place IV catheters and manage endotracheal intubation.
• Perform physical exams and monitor vital signs during anesthesia.
• Maintain anesthesia equipment and IV pumps, and troubleshoot errors.
• Support patient recovery and documentation of care and invoicing.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an Anesthesia Veterinary Technician!

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 / hour. This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system.

As an Anesthesia Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Assist in patient procedures using knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia related protocols and procedures, including formulating anesthetic plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Monitor anesthesia, trouble shoot anesthetic complications, and make appropriate interventions .
• Intravenous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, and anesthetic equipment use and maintenance .
• Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
• Understand normal vital parameters and alerts doctor when abnormal.
• Set up intravenous fluids and CRI's.
• Continuous expansion of knowledge and skillset: advanced anesthetic skills including epidurals, difficult airway intubation, and critical case management.
• Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.
• Comfortable with medical math .
• Ability to take patient through entire procedure from start to finish (pre-op, monitoring, post-op, and recovery)
• Manage appointments, obtain histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc.
• Disconnect and connect patients from intravenous fluids aseptically.
• Monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload.
