Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking an Anesthesia Tech to support anesthesia and nursing teams in surgical areas. You will handle blood, medications, supplies and equipment, ensuring accurate patient identification and proper delivery of products during procedures.

Responsibilities include stocking and maintaining ORs and pre/post rooms, adhering to infection control policies, and assisting in pre/post intake with vitals and monitoring.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year clinical/hospital experience preferred.
• Proficient in speaking and reading English.
• Computer skills required; must be self-directed and able to make independent decisions.
• Experience in surgical areas and direct patient care (CNA/PCA) preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology; ability to multitask and adapt to workflow changes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work in a team.
• Ability to lift over 20 lbs, walk long distances, kneel/bend and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient-care, safety, and technical duties to support anesthesia and nursing teams.
• Assist with blood, medications, supplies and equipment during procedures.
• Identify patients to ensure proper delivery of blood products and medications.
• Operate surgical equipment under the direction of a licensed provider.
• Stock ORs and pre/post rooms with required supplies and equipment.
• Ensure ORs, procedure and pre/post rooms are cleaned and prepared for the next patient and follow infection control policies.
• Assist in patient intake with vitals and monitoring devices in pre/post areas.
• Active member of the Anesthesia OR emergency response team and ensure safety equipment is ready.
