Summary
  • This position works independently and under the supervision of the Nurse Manager/Anesthesia Senior Technician, providing support and assistance to Anesthesiologists and Anesthetists in the acquisition, preparation, and application of the equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia.
Responsibilities
  • Work independently and follow the direction of the Lead Anesthesia Tech and/or designee to meet the needs of the Medical Staff. Manage all medical gas tanks in all locations. Facilitate suite turnover. Assist the anesthesia team during routine and emergency procedures. Recognize and adhere to “Universal Precautions”. Handle anesthesia equipment and supplies per manufacturer guidelines. Demonstrate knowledge of sterilization and high-level disinfection of anesthesia supplies.
  • Maintain a full range of anesthesia supplies and perform limited maintenance at all anesthesia sites within the hospital, including ORs, ENDO/CYSTO, ASC, OB/LDRP suites, and anesthesia workrooms. Maintain accurate par levels and rotate stock for medications and equipment. Notify management of any shortages impacting patient care.
  • Provide perioperative technical support to anesthesia staff, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment, preparing equipment for procedures, and maintaining emergency and specialty anesthesia equipment. Understand medications used in the department. Report equipment repairs. Perform well under high demand and stress. Check all code and specialty carts.
