Under supervision, provides support to the surgical patient and operating room team by performing activities related to anesthesia care. Assists with airway management, physiological monitoring, and invasive lines. Performs routine maintenance, safety checks, troubleshooting, cleaning, and disinfecting of equipment. Exhibits professionalism in patient and staff interactions.

Precepts, assists, and trains new staff. Performs other duties as assigned.

Depending on experience, this position will be hired at Tech I or Tech II.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • BART or BLS certification at hire, with commitment to obtain BART within six months.
  • One year experience as an Anesthesia Technician or in an Anesthesia Department (for Tech I).
  • Minimum of one year as an anesthesia technician with demonstrated competency per ASATT standards (for Tech II).
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and anesthesia technology principles.
  • Independent judgment skills for rapid response in patient care environment.
  • Proficient in equipment application, troubleshooting, and preparation for anesthesia care.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of an accredited anesthesia program.
  • Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer. A.T.) issued by ASATT.
  • Experience with Rapid Infusion Devices and Blood Salvaging Devices (Cell Saver).
