The Anesthesia Tech is responsible for performing various patient‑care, safety, and technical duties to support anesthesia and nursing teams in surgical and procedural areas. The anesthesia technician responds to patient‑specific needs including blood, medications, supply and equipment during the surgical procedure. This position performs patient identification procedures to ensure proper delivery of blood products and medications. This position operates surgical equipment under the direction of a licensed provider. The anesthesia tech ensures all ORs and pre/post rooms are adequately stocked with appropriate quantity of supplies and required equipment. The position ensures ORs, procedure and prepost rooms are cleaned and prepared for the next patient to ensure safe and efficient operation. The anesthesia technician cleans equipment and implements infection control policies to support the anesthesia practices in surgical and procedural areas. This position is an active member of the Anesthesia OR emergency response/code team and assures all emergency safety equipment is available and in working order. In specified pre-post areas Anesthesia Techs assist in patient intake with tasks that include obtaining height, weight, and vitals as well as attaching other appropriate monitoring devices.
