The University of Michigan's Anesthesiology department is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to assist in anesthetic care across various settings. Responsibilities include maintaining anesthesia equipment, supporting providers during procedures, and ensuring patient safety. The Anesthesiology department has an exciting opportunity for an Anesthesia Technician to assist the anesthesia provider with administration and monitoring of anesthesia in a variety of settings. The technician provides support for anesthesia providers by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment, transport ICU patients, perform labs at point of care, and resupply of critical items before, during, and after anesthesia care.

In addition to perioperative responsibilities, Anesthesia Technicians maintain a clean workroom, run quality control tests on point of care lab equipment, and additional duties as required.
This position requires moderate standing/walking, as well as lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring of patients
1 year or more experience as an Anesthesia Technician or comparable position in healthcare.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
