Job summary

Provident Behavioral Health is seeking an OR support role to assist anesthesia and nursing teams in surgical and procedural areas, handling patient-care, safety, and technical duties.

You will manage blood, medications, supplies, and equipment during procedures and ensure proper identification for products and medications while operating surgical equipment under supervision.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; clinical/hospital experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in English, computer skills, and ability to work independently.
  • Experience in surgical settings, patient care, or related fields preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and teamwork skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and adaptability skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Physical ability to lift over 20 lbs., walk, kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods.
  • Certification in BLS or ability to obtain within six months.

Responsibilities

  • Assist anesthesia and nursing teams in surgical and procedural areas by performing patient-care, safety, and technical duties.

  • Maintain adequate stock of supplies and equipment in ORs and pre/post rooms.
  • Prepare and clean rooms and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Assist in patient intake, including measuring vital signs and monitoring devices.
  • Participate in emergency response teams and ensure safety equipment readiness.
  • Follow infection control policies and support anesthesia practices.
