Job summary

Bell Hospital in Kansas City, MO is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support the anesthesiology team and OR staff in patient care. You will assist with monitoring devices, line setup and equipment prep, ensuring safety and efficiency in the perioperative area.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, BLS certification, and relevant experience. You will follow infection control guidelines, maintain inventories and participate in data recording and process improvement.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist anesthesiologist, perfusionist and OR staff in patient care as directed.
• Maintain inventory and cost-effective supply management.
• Set up and troubleshoot invasive monitoring devices and ECG.
• Calibrate arterial lines, PA catheters and cardiac output monitors.
• Follow infection control guidelines and maintain equipment.
• Record and support procedural databases and unit procedures.

Position Summary / Career Interest:

Under the direction of the Anesthesia Technician Manager, this position is responsible for the performance of quality customer care. In this support role the Technician will assist the anesthesiologist, perfusionist and OR staff members in patient care and support as ordered and prescribed by the attending surgeon, anesthesiologist or perfusionist.*Hours for this position are 9:00AM-7:30PM Mon-Fri 4 10 hour days

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

• Performs procedures, recording, analyzing and diagnosing various physiological monitoring functions, with the variety of devices, equipment or techniques.
• Facilitates processes to maintain successful inventory levels and cost-effective practice of supply management by team members; including supportive strategies for cost-containment
• Demonstrates abilities and competencies in performing procedures, recording, analyzing and diagnosing various physiological monitoring functions, with the following devices, equipment or techniques:
• Invasive monitoring devices; calibrate and troubleshoot
• Arterial line setup
• PA catheters setup and assist
• Cardiac Output monitors setup and assist
• ECG, attach and troubleshoot
• POC testing
• Autologous Blood Recovery System
• Directional Doppler
• Other equipment relevant to position
• Maintain Procedural Database
• Follow Infection Control Guidelines for maintaining, clean and use of non-disposable equipment and maintain timely changes of indwelling catheters and lines.
• Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
