Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking an anesthesia technician to support anesthesia providers and ASC teams in Houston. The role involves preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment and monitoring devices, assisting with patient transport and resuscitation, and ensuring clean, sterile environments and inventory control.

Required: High School Diploma or GED, BLS certification, and 2+ years anesthesia technician experience. Preferred ASATT training and MS Word proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist anesthesia providers and ASC team in acquisition, preparation, and application of anesthesia equipment and supplies.
• Prepare, set up, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems.
• Assist with transporting, positioning, resuscitative efforts and patient care during anesthesia.
• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize work areas and equipment; manage supplies and inventory.

This position will assist the anesthesia providers and ASC team in the acquisition, preparation, and application of equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia and blocks. Provides support by preparing, setting up, calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during and after anesthesia, assisting with transporting, positioning, resuscitative efforts of patients, cleaning/disinfection/sterilization of work area/equipment, and supply/inventory management.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or GED from an accredited program
• BLS through American Heart Association
• 2+ years working as an anesthesia technician (AT)
• Proficient in the operation and decontamination of anesthesia equipment
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of an anesthesia technician training program approved by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT)
• 2+ years working as an anesthesia technician
• Microsoft Word

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $18.00 to $32.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
