Department: DPH Anesthesia Supplies

Status: Full-Time (40 hours per week)

Shift: Four 10-hour shifts | 11am - 9pm or 12pm - 10pm

ABOUT DPH SURGERY SERVICES

  • The surgery department is located on the second floor of tower A and provides comprehensive care on a 24-hour, 7-day week basis.
  • Dr. P. Phillips surgery provides intraoperative services for patients requiring orthopedic, neurological, general, vascular, gynecological, urologic, ENT, and robotic services with our 10 OR suites
  • Anesthesia services are provided by a contracted anesthesia provider and include general sedation, monitored anesthesia care, regional anesthesia, and consultation for all patients requiring anesthesia services.

Responsibilities

Position Summary
Demonstrates through clinical practice a clear understanding of aseptic techniques and has a working knowledge of the specialized
equipment and supplies utilized by the Anesthesiologist/Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologist (CRNA).

Essential Functions
• Restocks the anesthesia supplies, equipment and drugs in the operating room after each case.
• Maintains and assures adequate inventory levels of anesthesia supplies in departmental service areas and is responsible for ordering these supplies.
• Cleans and maintains the equipment utilized in the delivery of anesthetic service.
• Sets up all invasive monitoring lines as requested by anesthesia.
• Responds and assists Anesthesiologist/CRNA with all perioperative anesthesia emergencies.
• Demonstrates competency in specific tasks and skills defined by the Surgical Services specific competency list.
• Communicates appropriate information to the Anesthesiologist/CRNA and perioperative nursing staff.
• Transports and delivers items, equipment, and medications (excluding controlled substances and IV chemotherapy drugs) throughout the facility.
• May have limited access to areas storing medications.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.


Qualifications

Education/Training

  • High School graduate or equivalent

Licensure/Certification

  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification
  • Maintains current ACLS certification

Experience

  • 1+ years of experience as an Anesthesia Tech
