Summary

Responsible for setting up and assembling anesthesia and physiologic monitoring equipment. Assists with the placement of vascular access lines and endotracheal intubation. Ensures proper functioning of anesthesia and monitoring equipment, performs minor repairs, and requisitions specialized equipment and supplies. Assists with patient transport, cleans equipment, and manages anesthesia equipment post-surgery.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a hospital-based anesthesia technician training program of at least one year or equivalent on-the-job training under supervision for 1-2 years.

Skills Required

• Ability to read, write, and understand basic physiology/medical terminology.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills for routine contact with patients, physicians, and healthcare team members.

Physical and Mental Demands

• Ability to lift, position, and transport patients and anesthesia equipment.
• Ability to stand and walk up to 50% of the time.
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity for operating equipment and computers.
