Job summary

ApolloMD is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support the OR team at East Cooper Medical Center in Mount Pleasant, SC. This role ensures anesthesia equipment is prepared, sterile, and ready for procedures, with attention to safety and workflow efficiency.

The successful candidate will have familiarity with anesthesia devices, sterilization, and infection-control standards, and will assist with equipment troubleshooting, inventory, and patient positioning as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; health-related training preferred.
• Experience with anesthesia equipment and sterile processing.
• ASATT Cer.A.T. or Cer.A.T.T. credentials preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up, and calibrate anesthesia machines and monitors before procedures.
• Clean and reprocess equipment in accordance with infection-control standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs with Biomed.
• Stock anesthesia supplies and lead monthly inventory inspections.
• Assist with patient positioning during surgical procedures.
• Support the clinical team during anesthesia-related emergencies.

Position Summary

The Anesthesia Technician provides critical operational and technical support to the anesthesia and surgical teams at East Cooper Medical Center. This role is responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of anesthesia equipment and the operating room environment, ensuring all equipment and supplies are ready, sterile, and functioning before each procedure. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and committed to patient safety.

QualificationsKey Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up, and calibrate anesthesia machines, monitors, and related devices prior to each procedure.
• Clean, sterilize, and reprocess equipment in compliance with infection-control and facility standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions before and during procedures; coordinate with Biomed for repairs and replacements.
• Stock and manage anesthesia supply inventory; lead monthly inspections to identify and remove expired supplies.
• Assist with patient positioning for surgical procedures.
• Support the clinical team during anesthesia-related emergencies and maintain emergency equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; health-related training or Associate's degree preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in an OR, surgical, or anesthesia support environment.
• Knowledge of anesthesia equipment, sterilization techniques, and infection-control standards.
• Cer.A.T. or Cer.A.T.T. credential (ASATT) preferred but not required.
