Job summary

UofL Health is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to assist in the preparation and application of anesthesia equipment and supplies for safe perioperative care. You will help ensure sterile technique, set up lines, monitor devices, and assist during induction and recovery under anesthesia staff guidance.

Responsibilities include maintaining inventory, stocking rooms, responding to alarms, and supporting the anesthesia team across routine and complex cases in a fast-paced OR environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• College experience/courses in Anatomy, Physiology, and Microbiology preferred.
• Prior experience as an anesthesia technician or in a patient-care role preferred.
• Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification required.
• ASAT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs ordering anesthesia supplies and prepares equipment for operating rooms.
• Maintains and inventories anesthesia supplies and equipment.
• Assists anesthesia provider and responds to turnover between cases.
• Responds to alarms and troubleshoots anesthesia equipment.
• Sets up IVs, A-lines, and central lines under supervision.
• Positions patient for surgery and assists with intubation and transport to recovery.
