Job summary

MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets is seeking a Credentialed Anesthesia Veterinary Technician to join our clinical team in Ohio. You will assist with anesthesia, manage medical records, and support high-quality patient care in a fast-paced specialty and emergency setting.

State-registered technician license preferred; prior anesthesia experience is desired. Excellent communication and precise drug calculations are essential for safe, effective perioperative care.

Qualifications

  • State-Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred.
  • Experience in veterinary anesthesia is desired.
  • Proficient in drug calculations, CRIs, conversions, and dosing.
  • Ability to adapt to flexible work hours.
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in anesthesia procedures, formulate anesthetic plans and tailor to patient needs.
  • Manage appointments, histories, records, invoicing, and discharges.
  • Place IV catheters, assist with intubation and monitor anesthesia.
  • Understand perioperative considerations and comorbidities.
  • Monitor anesthesia, troubleshoot complications, intervene when needed.
  • Maintain advanced skills such as arterial lines and epidurals.
  • Apply physiology and pharmacology knowledge to high-risk patients.
  • Support the MedVet experience and high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate, multitask, and contribute as a strong team member.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation.

We are looking for: Credentialed Anesthesia Veterinary Technician

Whatyou’lldo:
  • Assist in patient procedures using knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia related protocols and procedures, including formulating anesthetic plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Manage appointments, obtain histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc.,
  • I ntravenous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation and anesthetic equipment use and maintenance
  • Thorough understanding of anesthetic considerations and how comorbidities affect case protocol and perioperative management
  • Monitor anesthesia, trouble shoot anesthetic complications and make appropriate interventions
  • Continuous expansion of knowledge and skillset; advanced anesthetic skills include arterial line placement, epidurals, difficult airway intubation, and critical case management.
  • Lean on thorough understanding of physiology and pharmacology to facilitate delivery of appropriate anesthetic care for high risk patients or procedures.
  • Drive the MedVet Experience and ensure our patients receive the highest quality care

  • Ensure documentation is accurate and complete
Who you are:
  • State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred
  • Prior veterinary experience required, previous anesthesia experience desired
  • Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
  • Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
