North American Partners in Anesthesia is seeking a skilled medical coder to review clinical documentation and assign accurate anesthesia service codes. You will pull information from hospital EMR systems, resolve coding questions, and perform daily edits in the billing system to ensure clean claims.

The role emphasizes adherence to payor guidelines, research into denials, and collaboration with offshore vendors. Strong attention to detail and knowledge of CMS guidelines are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ professional medical coding experience.
• CPC or CCS-P certification required.
• Experience with offshore vendor coding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review medical record documentation to identify correct coding based on billing and payor guidelines.
• Research, analyze and respond to inquiries regarding compliance and inappropriate coding denials.
• Retrieve missing patient documentation required for accurate billing.
• Work task queues within various systems.
• Support offshore vendor coding questions.
• Recommend vendor education based on tasks reviewed.
