Job summary

Google's software engineers advance next-generation technologies, connecting billions of users with information. This role focuses on the microXR platform for AR glasses, delivering seamless experiences by offloading workloads to a smartphone to maximize battery life.

The microXR connectivity team builds reliable links between glasses and phones using Bluetooth and WiFi, tackling long-term strategy and high-performance wireless solutions across a unique SOC architecture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of Android application development experience.
• Experience with connectivity, Bluetooth, and WiFi.
• Master's or PhD preferred for advanced studies.
• 2 years of data structures and algorithms experience.

Responsibilities

• Address critical and ambiguous connectivity problems for glasses and phones with AI integration.
• Collaborate with WearOS, Android Auto, and Android Better Together to shape future iterations of the Android platform.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, product managers, and engineers to drive decisions and align expectations.
• Engage with glasses OEMs and other teams to drive best decisions across the stack.
