Reddit, Inc. is seeking an experienced Android engineer to build native apps at scale using Kotlin. Join the Consumer Engineering org to shape user journeys across discovery, feeds, and engagement on Android.

You will own features from design to deployment, collaborate with product, data science, ML, and backend teams, foster code quality, and mentor teammates while improving performance, accessibility, and developer workflows.

• Professional experience developing native Android applications with Kotlin and a strong understanding of Android frameworks and application architecture.
• Ability to write idiomatic, readable, reusable, and testable code, with strong skills in debugging, performance optimization, reliability, and maintainability.
• Experience designing mobile systems and interfaces, evaluating architectural tradeoffs, and building scalable features from APIs through user-facing UI.
• Experience with experimentation, feature flags, instrumentation, analytics, and product or quality-of-experience metrics. Familiarity with Jetpack Compose, Android accessibility, Media3 or ExoPlayer, MediaCodec, HLS or DASH, recommendation systems, or ML-integrated products is a plus.

The Reddit Consumer Engineering organization builds and scales the products that Redditors use directly to discover content, participate in communities, and connect with others. Sitting at the intersection of large-scale distributed systems and core user journeys, Android Software Engineers in Consumer Engineering work with Product Managers, Designers, Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Backend Engineers, and other mobile engineers to build, experiment with, and scale the experiences that help hundreds of millions of users discover, join, navigate, and engage with Reddit.

Pay Transparency

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including, skills, depth of work experience and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below. The base salary range for this position is: $164,200—$229,900 USD
