Job summary

Protingent Staffing seeks an Android Software Engineer to own the Android client experience, including AI interactions on mobile. You will build a production Android application where AI features are core to performance, reliability, and clarity.

The role requires 3+ years of Kotlin Android development, experience with AI features, and strong debugging and performance skills. This is a direct-hire, fully remote position with market-rate compensation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Android development using Kotlin.
• Experience integrating AI features (LLM, vision, speech APIs).
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming (Coroutines, Flow).
• Familiarity with REST or gRPC APIs and structured data formats.
• Strong debugging and performance profiling skills.
• Comfort with latency, partial failure, non-deterministic behavior.
• Experience with MLKit or on-device inference.
• Published apps on Google Play Store.

Responsibilities

As an Android Software Engineer, you own the Android client experience, how AI feels, behaves, and performs on mobile devices. This is not a thin client role. You will build a production Android application where AI interactions are core to the product, and performance, reliability, and clarity matter.
