Job summary

Trellix is seeking an experienced Android Reverse Engineer to join our global program. You will analyze Android applications and SDKs, perform decompilation, disassembly, and debugging to identify security risks and exposure of user data.

Responsibilities include threat intelligence, collaboration with researchers and developers, and providing actionable recommendations to build secure apps and ecosystems across platforms.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of expertise in Android Development, Reverse Engineering, Pentesting, Application Security Assessments, or CTF.
• Analyzing, unpacking, and reverse engineering code of malicious applications or SDKs.
• Static and Dynamic Analysis Techniques.
• Reverse engineering tools such as Jadx, Ghidra, Frida, IDA Pro, Burp for binary/APK analysis.
• Development of signatures (SQL, Yara, etc.).
• Understanding Android fundamentals (activity lifecycles, API usage, AOSP) and how an Android app is created.
• Techniques used by malicious apps to harm user data or devices.
• Network traffic analysis and security fundamentals.
• Threat intel via Open-Source Intelligence sources.

Responsibilities

• Deep Dive Analysis: analyze Android apps and SDKs to understand codebase, architecture, functionality and risks.
• Reverse Engineering Techniques: decompilation, disassembly and debugging to extract information.
• Risk Identification: identify data leakage, user risk and malicious code execution within apps/SDKs.
• Threat Intelligence: gather, analyze and report Android malware threats and exploits.
• Collaboration: share findings and provide recommendations with researchers and developers.
