Job summary

Innova Solutions is hiring an Android/Kotlin Engineer (Intermediate) for NYC, NY. This is a Contract to Hire position with duration of 6+ months. The role requires 2–5 years shipping Android apps, strong Kotlin, and modern UI skills, with Jetpack Compose preferred.

Expect DI with Hilt/Dagger, CI-friendly builds, and end-to-end feature ownership. Pay range is $75/hour with benefits outlined by Innova Solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience: 2–5 years building and shipping Android apps in production; ownership of features end-to-end.
• Language: Strong Kotlin (incl. coroutines); solid grasp of OOP, SOLID, and pragmatic design patterns.
• Modern UI: Jetpack Compose (preferred) and/or strong XML UI skills; theming, accessibility, localization, multiple screen sizes.
• Architecture: Hands-on delivery using MVI (unidirectional data flow).
• Async & state: Coroutines + Flow/StateFlow; structured concurrency and backpressure awareness.
• DI: Production experience with Hilt/Dagger; testability and proper scoping.
• Android fundamentals: Lifecycle, Navigation, WorkManager, permissions, deep links, notifications.
• Data layer: Room and DataStore; offline/poor-network handling.
• Testing & quality: Unit tests for reducers/use-cases, ViewModel tests; CI-friendly builds.
