Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Android Engineer to join a focused team dedicated to modernizing our Rider Android app. We are adopting new unidirectional architecture to enhance developer productivity and ensure success. The ideal candidate can ramp up quickly, deliver high-quality work efficiently, and collaborate closely with senior Android engineers from Mobile Infra and product teams.

The Rider app is used by millions, and we prioritize excellent development practices, architecture, rapid releases, continuous integration, automated testing, and user analytics. Our process includes bi-weekly release trains, beta testing, A/B testing, feature flagging, and thorough code reviews and testing.

Responsibilities

1. Work closely with senior and staff Android engineers to adopt new APIs, identify blockers, and resolve issues.
2. Quickly understand product context, codebase, and adopt new architecture while collaborating with product team engineers.
3. Deliver well-crafted, tested, and maintainable code.
4. Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and share knowledge.
5. Support and unblock team members, fostering a collaborative environment.

Experience

• Minimum 5+ years of industry software engineering experience.
• Experience with large-scale Android applications.
• Proficiency in Kotlin; Java experience is a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of architecture paradigms like unidirectional and reactive programming.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose, testing, and creating shared components.
