Android Developer (Onsite)

Cognizant is seeking a top-tier Android Developer to join our team! The ideal candidate should have experience working within a financial organization and demonstrate an understanding of its complexities. Experience with digital platforms, distributed systems, and Cloud technologies is essential.

Experience in a dynamic environment that influences banking experiences for clients and employees is critical. The role requires driving consistent frameworks and methodologies to support uniformity, with attention to detail and effective communication at both summary and detailed levels. Familiarity with both waterfall and agile methodologies is necessary.

The Role:

Cognizant is looking for an innovative Native Android Developer to serve our global clients. You will build cutting-edge, cloud-based software powering modern business solutions. The ideal candidate enjoys working in diverse, collaborative, and geographically distributed teams, values continuous improvement, and is unafraid to challenge legacy systems with creative cloud-based solutions.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship (H-1B, L-1B, L-1A, etc.).

Location:

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design and develop Android applications
• Perform unit testing
• Work within an agile development environment
• Coordinate discussions with clients and offshore teams
• Generate necessary artifacts and contribute to project management

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in software development, including architecting and designing Android applications
• 5+ years of Android development experience using Kotlin and Jetpack
• 5+ years of mobile solutions engineering experience
• Experience with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, 2.1, or both
• Strong skills in design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate across business and technical teams
• Knowledge of application and web security
• Understanding of performance analysis and tuning for applications

Salary and Benefits:

The annual salary ranges from $81,337 to $114,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This position is eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance.
