Job summary

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies in Palo Alto is seeking an Android Developer Intern to work on infotainment software and core components.

You will collaborate with hardware and software teams, contribute to design, testing, and deployment, and gain experience across mobile and embedded systems. This internship runs September 21 – December 18 and provides exposure to end-to-end software development in a world-class automotive tech environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field at a US university.
• Experience in system-level software development for mobile or embedded systems (Linux or Android preferred).
• Understanding of modern SoC architectures, operating system fundamentals.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaborative skills.

• Own and develop core software components and services that power our infotainment system, from requirement analysis, to design, implementation, quality assurance, deployment, and continued improvement.
• Innovate and experiment with new designs and processes to make our software more robust, secure, and scalable.
• Work with cross-functional hardware and software teams to explore and define our next-generation infotainment experience.
