Job summary

Speechify is hiring a remote Android Team Lead to own core product work and raise how the team operates. This is a hands-on role: write code, review PRs, and own features end-to-end while ensuring timely delivery.

You'll lead the team in maintaining reliability metrics, guide releases, and collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to push Android UI/UX beyond the spec. Strong leadership with technical excellence is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on leadership.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin and Android architecture patterns.
• Experience shipping long-running background work and audio features.
• Proven ability to drive reliable, well-tested Android apps.

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end, collaborating with design and release.
• Maintain reliability metrics for key features and review PRs.
• Unblock the team and drive decisions toward a unified version.
• Reduce manual steps to ensure correct nightly releases.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to align on constraints.
