Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an experienced software engineer to lead Kotlin development and collaborate with cross-functional teams on modern mobile and cloud projects. You will drive architecture, testing, and CI/CD while engaging with clients to clarify requirements and deliver high-quality software.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Kotlin development experience
• 3+ years with Jetpack Compose
• 2+ years with Gemini, Claude, or similar AI tools
• 3+ years with GWT and/or AWS cloud environments
• Strong OOD and software design principles knowledge
• Experience with TDD, DDD, and CI/CD pipelines
• Proven ability to work with clients and stakeholders to refine requirements
• Strong written and verbal English communication across distributed teams
• Familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile, TypeScript, Python or BMAD is a plus

• Lead technical collaboration within project teams, using your experience to guide engineers throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Establish and maintain high standards for code quality, engineering governance, and adherence to agreed architecture, patterns, and design principles.
• Contribute to technical architecture, project planning, estimation, hands‑on coding, and development activities.
• Drive codebase refactoring, continuous improvement, and the adoption of software development best practices.
• Communicate technical decisions, implementation details, and project updates clearly across distributed teams.
• Take ownership of application releases and contribute to the maintenance and support of live products.
• Participate in deployment, operations, and DevOps activities to ensure reliable software delivery.
• Collaborate directly with clients and stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve complex challenges, and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Maintain professional standards and promote fair, responsible outcomes for customers and end users.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of hands‑on Kotlin development experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with Jetpack Compose.
• At least 2 years of experience working with Gemini, Claude, or comparable AI development tools.
• At least 3 years of experience with GWT and/or AWS cloud environments.
• Strong object‑oriented design (OOD) skills and a solid understanding of software design principles, patterns, and best practices.
• Experience with Test‑Driven Development (TDD), Domain‑Driven Design (DDD), and configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven ability to work directly with clients and project stakeholders to define, clarify, and refine requirements.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams.
• A proactive, self‑motivated approach, sound technical judgment, and the ability to lead teams through complex engineering challenges.
• Familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile, TypeScript, Python, Hyper Velocity Engineering, or the BMAD methodology is an advantage.
• Must currently reside in Canada. Relocation assistance is not available.
