Summary

The Anatomical Laboratory Assistant supports the Anatomical Laboratory Manager in preparing for academic activities across multiple courses, utilizing three Anatomical laboratories, a multipurpose laboratory, and other learning spaces. Responsibilities include maintaining laboratories, equipment, anatomical specimens, and inventory. This role does not involve research activities.

  1. Maintain cleanliness, repair, and organization of laboratories, instruments, equipment, models, supply rooms, and AV rooms.
  2. Assist with record keeping, processing, maintenance, and disposal related to donors and non-human specimens.
  3. Set up laboratories including equipment, models, specimens, consumables, and course materials prior to each course, under oversight.
  4. Organize student stations, models, equipment, and course materials after labs.
  5. Assist faculty with exams.
  6. Manage inventory, incoming orders, and stock supplies.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required. 1-3 years of related experience preferred, especially in inventory and stocking. Excellent communication skills are essential.

Computer Skills

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Physical Demands

Frequent standing, walking, handling, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, tasting, or smelling. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally. Visual acuity required.

Work Environment

Moderate noise level, occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, high places, cold, chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles requiring respirator use.
