Job summary

White Plains Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Laboratory leader for the Anatomic Pathology department. Day shift, Mon-Fri with alternating weekends and holidays; expectations include supervising scientists, cytotechnologists, and support staff to ensure accurate testing and timely results.

You will oversee quality control, staff training, and department budgeting while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science; NYS license or ASCP certification preferred
• 4–6 years of hospital laboratory experience required
• Demonstrated flexibility, organization, adaptability, and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise tests performed by laboratory staff
• Train and assist laboratory supervisor staff
• Oversee the Quality Control Program and prepare monthly reports
• Prepare section payroll and time sheets
• Maintain compliance with accrediting bodies and safety standards
• Interdisciplinary collaboration and vendor liaison as needed
