Job summary

Lighthouse Lab Services seeks a Medical Director/Pathologist to lead an Anatomic Pathology practice in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The role focuses on diagnostic surgical pathology, clinical leadership, and collaboration with hospital teams in a centralized AP laboratory and blood services setting.

Board-certified or eligible AP/CP pathologists with strong surgical pathology experience are encouraged to apply. A competitive package includes 10% annual bonus, sign-on, relocation assistance, 7 weeks PTO,

Qualifications

• MD or DO with AP/CP board certification or eligibility.
• General Surgical Pathology experience required.
• Hematopathology experience preferred.
• Active or eligible for Michigan medical licensure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
• 7 weeks of PTO and relocation assistance are provided.
• Sign-on bonus and 10% annual bonus are offered.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic interpretation of surgical pathology cases, including frozen sections
• Provide medical oversight and leadership for Anatomic Pathology services
• Collaborate with hospital staff, physicians, and administrative leadership
• Provide consultation and support to clinical teams as needed
• Participate in a light call schedule, primarily consisting of occasional phone consultations
• Support quality, compliance, and laboratory operations
• Provide physician-level leadership and guidance across the organization
• Assist with hematopathology responsibilities as needed; no autopsy responsibilities
