Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) seeks an Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist for NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. The role involves interpreting surgical pathology, cytology, and intraoperative consultations in an academic hospital environment.

The candidate will oversee clinical lab operations, mentor staff and students, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• Active New York State Medical License or eligible
• Board Certification or Eligibility in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in pathology

Responsibilities

• Interpret and sign out a wide variety of surgical pathology, cytology, and frozen section cases with high diagnostic autonomy.
• Perform intraoperative consultations, autopsies, renal biopsy adequacy assessments, and critical result reporting.
• Provide medical oversight and consultation to the clinical laboratories across hematology and chemistry tests.
• Supervise Pathologists' Assistants and residents; contribute to teaching and academic activities.
• Collaborate with laboratory leadership to support accreditation, proficiency testing, and operations.

Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.The annual total value of compensation package is estimated at $392,520** (Board Eligible) and $403,520** (Board Certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings.
