Job summary

Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A. is hiring to install, maintain, and repair industrial analytical equipment in both the lab and process field.

Equipment includes electronics, controllers, sample systems, and final control elements such as control valves, with analyzers like gas chromatograms, IR, O2, and CEMS. The role involves installing equipment, setting up loop files, calibrating analyzers, troubleshooting, coordinating with operations for permits and PPE, and being on after-hours

Qualifications

  • Education and experience requirements: High School Diploma or GED plus an Associate’s degree or five years related experience, or equivalent combo.
  • Ability to read specs, set up loop files, and maintain manuals.
  • Willingness to work after hours as needed and coordinate with operations.

Responsibilities

  • Install new equipment and assist engineer with loop files, drawings, spare parts, and manuals.
  • Perform daily inspections and assist loop checks and startup.
  • Calibrate analyzers and inspect equipment per schedules.
  • Troubleshoot analyzers and sample systems; contact manufacturer for parts; document data.
  • Coordinate work with operations to obtain permits and PPE; follow bypass SOP.
  • Respond to after-hours emergency calls as required.

SUMMARY

Install, maintain, and repair Industrial analytical equipment both in the lab and process field. Analytical equipment includes electronics, controllers, sample system, and final control elements such as control valves. Types of analyzers include but not limited to gas chromatograms, IR, O2, CEMS, etc. Also see additional Analyzer duties (attached).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Install new equipment and assist engineer with setting up loop files including specifications, loop drawings, spare parts list, operating and maintenance manuals, and pre startup checklist.
  • Perform daily inspections of projects contracted out and assist loop check and startup.
  • Perform daily calibration and visual inspection of analyzers per inspection schedules.
  • Troubleshoot and repair analyzer and sample systems as required. Contact manufacturer for technical assistance. Obtain pricing and availability of parts needed for repair. Document test and repair data.
  • Coordinate all work with operations to obtain work permits and proper PPE. Follow SOP for bypassing interlocks.
  • Required to be on After hour emergency calls as required.
