Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking an Analytics Modernization Lead to drive modernization of analytic workflows across public health data environments. This role leads SAS-to-R/Python migrations, validation, and governance while adopting open-source technologies and modern software practices.

The candidate will collaborate with biostatisticians, epidemiologists, and data scientists to ensure scientific integrity, reproducibility, and operational continuity, bridging methodology and technical implementation.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident with ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Informatics, Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 8+ years of professional experience supporting analytics modernization, statistical programming, data science, or analytical platform implementation.
• Experience migrating SAS to open-source platforms (R/Python) and validating outputs.
• Expertise in SAS programming including macros, PROC SQL, data step, and reporting workflows.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, version control, and modern SDLC practices.
• Ability to collaborate with biostatisticians, epidemiologists, and data scientists on validation efforts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead for analytics modernization initiatives supporting surveillance, research, program evaluation, and data science activities.
• Develop modernization roadmaps, coding standards, governance frameworks, and implementation plans for analytics transformation.
• Assess legacy analytics environments and migrations to identify modernization opportunities.
• Lead SAS-to-open-source migrations while preserving analytic intent and output consistency.
• Design and oversee validation frameworks for equivalence between legacy and modernized workflows.
• Establish and maintain code review standards, regression testing, and reproducibility controls.
• Collaborate with scientific staff to validate migrated outputs and ensure defensibility of solutions.
