Job summary

Thorlabs is seeking an Analytics Engineering Supervisor to lead the design and governance of semantic models, KPIs, and analytical frameworks across the company. You will bridge business needs with IT, drive self-service analytics, and standardize data definitions for trusted enterprise data.

Remote work is possible with periodic travel to Newton, NJ. The role emphasizes collaboration with Global IT and cross-functional teams to align analytics with platform architecture and strategic priorities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of analytics engineering or BI experience.
• Experience designing semantic or analytic models.
• Strong KPI definitions and cross-stakeholder alignment.
• SQL and relational data concepts knowledge.
• Experience with Azure, Synapse, Fabric, or Dataverse preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define, design, and govern enterprise semantic and analytical models.
• Translate business questions into clearly defined KPIs, metrics, and frameworks.
• Partner with Data Engineering to ensure scalable data pipelines and datasets.
• Establish governance processes for semantic models and certified datasets.
• Enable teams to develop reporting with trusted, reusable data assets.
• Drive adoption and trust in enterprise data via transparency and standards.
