Job summary

Verisk Analytics is seeking an Analytics Engineer to build the trusted data foundation powering reporting, ML, and AI-driven solutions across insurance. You will collaborate with product, engineering, data science, and business stakeholders to model data assets and ensure governance.

You will transform raw data into reliable datasets, optimize data processes for performance and scalability, and document transformation logic and lineage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience as an Analytics Engineer or similar role.
• Strong communication skills to translate business requirements into data models.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and solutions (Redshift, Snowflake).
• Experience with data modeling (dimensional modeling).
• Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with Python.
• Experience with ETL tools (Airflow, Luigi, DBT).
• Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Cassandra).
• Version control with Git; ML concepts and data for ML model training; familiarity with AI tooling.

Responsibilities

• Data Modeling: develop data warehouse models with stakeholders.
• Data Transformation: clean, transform, and enrich data for analysis and ML.
• Collaboration: work with product, software, data science, and analysts to meet data needs.
• Data Management: ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
• Optimization: optimize data processes for performance and scalability.
• Documentation: maintain documentation of transformation logic and lineage.
