Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States is seeking a data product engineer to design, build, and deploy scalable data products that combine BI, cloud data, and AI/ML for finance and engineering teams.

You will replace manual processes, analyze BOMs and quotes to drive cost savings, and design pipelines on GCP/BigQuery while delivering actionable insights through Power BI dashboards. Strong SQL, Python, and financial modeling skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a highly quantitative field (Finance, Economics, Data Science, CS, Engineering)
• Proven track record of self-led learning of new technical tools
• Strong experience in SQL and querying large, complex datasets
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)/BigQuery or similar cloud platforms is highly valued
• Experience using Python, Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn to build predictive models and automate workflows
• Power BI dashboard design and data storytelling
• Solid understanding of financial principles (cost forecasting, NPV/ROI, budgeting, capital investment)
• Ability to connect financial drivers with scalable data and analytics solutions
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Visa sponsorship is not available

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy scalable data products combining BI, Cloud Data, and AI/ML
• Replace manual processes across Product Development Finance and enable faster, more informed decision-making
• Analyze Bills of Materials, supplier quotes, and engineering specs to identify cost savings and waste reduction
• Design secure data pipelines and data models on Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery
• Write optimized SQL and Python to automate analyses and generate actionable insights
• Explore and prototype AI-enabled solutions for finance and engineering teams
• Build dynamic Power BI dashboards translating data into clear insights for leadership
• Own code, models, and data quality
• Prioritize projects based on business impact and deliver fast, repeatable value
• Share expertise and upskill peers across teams
