Job summary

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of analytics engineering or data engineering experience, deep SQL skills, and strong ability to translate business concepts into analytics-ready data models.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, BI, or data engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL with complex transformations.
• Hands-on dbt experience including models, tests, and docs.
• Strong data modeling skills and analytics-ready data design.
• Ability to translate business concepts into data models.
• Excellent communication to explain data logic to business stakeholders.
• Experience with modern analytics stacks (cloud data warehouse, dbt, BI tools).
• Familiarity with data governance concepts like definitions and lineage.

Responsibilities

• Own and steward the dbt analytics project, including organization, naming, testing, and documentation
• Manage the analytics transformation layer to ensure reliable, scalable data models
• Collaborate with Data Engineering on upstream pipelines and data shaping to support analytics needs
• Define and implement trusted business logic, including dimensions, facts, and shared metrics
• Build and maintain performance-driven analytics models in dbt based on business requirements
• Embed data quality rules and validation logic into dbt models
• Apply dimensional modeling best practices to support reporting consistency
• Document models thoroughly, including descriptions, lineage, and assumptions
• Support the development of shared metrics and ensure consistency across analytics
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment workflows to ensure quality

SALARY: $90,000 - $130,000 depending on experience

• Strong hands-on experience with dbt, covering model development, refactoring, documentation, sources, and tests
• Deep understanding of analytical data modeling concepts and best practices
• Ability to translate business concepts into structured, analytics-ready data models
• Excellent communication skills to explain data logic in business terms
• Experience working in a modern analytics stack (cloud data warehouse, dbt, BI tools)
