Job summary

Linear is seeking an Analytics Engineer to join a small data team supporting Product, Engineering, and GTM functions. You will own pipelines, the data warehouse, dashboards, analysis, and third‑party integrations from a remote‑first base across North America.

You will build production dbt models, design robust data models, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver trusted metrics and insights while enabling self‑service reporting across the company.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL skills with hands-on dbt experience
• Background in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a closely related discipline
• Familiarity with BI and notebook tools such as Metabase and Hex, or equivalent
• Solid understanding of product and go-to-market metrics
• Ability to weigh quick-turn analysis against long-term maintainability

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product and GTM teams to turn ambiguous questions into useful metrics, models, analyses, and workflows
• Build and maintain dbt models and pipelines that produce trusted views of product usage, customers, and business performance
• Design clean, maintainable data models and improve testing, documentation, performance, and reliability across the data stack
• Build dashboards and self-service reporting, going deeper than a chart when the answer demands it
• Operationalize data through reverse ETL and collaborate with engineering on scoring, segmentation, automations, and internal tools
• Balance fast, pragmatic answers with durable solutions, recognizing when one-off requests should become reusable assets
• Explore emerging tools, LLMs, and coding agents to accelerate analytics work

This Analytics Engineer role sits on a small data team supporting Product, Engineering, and Go-to-Market functions, owning pipelines, the warehouse, dashboards, analysis, and third-party integrations. The position is well suited to someone who wants to help shape how data is architected and consumed at a growing software company. It is remote-first and open to candidates based in North America.

**Responsibilities**
