Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for an Analytics Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Romania. Our client is a developer of a social media management platform headquartered in Europe. The company’s platform enables organizations to manage their social media presence across multiple platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others. It is used by millions of users in over 175 countries, serving both small businesses and large enterprises. The platform manages multiple social media accounts and networks in one place, streamlining content scheduling, publishing, and monitoring. Enterprises utilize advanced AI features for content creation, social listening, and chatbot-driven engagement, enabling users to save time and optimize performance. The solution helps track hundreds of social media metrics, benchmark against competitors, and generate custom or automated reports to measure engagement, reach, and ROI.
You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports the analytics function, working closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other engineering teams to ensure that the organization’s data pipelines are scalable, reliable, and efficient. This role involves transforming raw data into actionable insights, optimizing data workflows, and enabling advanced analytics and business intelligence initiatives.
An ideal candidate should understand how to connect business processes to data, should have a strong understanding of what business requirements are, and understand how a business wants to use the data.

Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge in SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Knowledge of ETL frameworks and data processing tools (e.g., Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, dbt, Fivetran).
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake) and working knowledge of data lakes and data warehouses.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and an understanding of how to support analytics dashboards and reporting.
- Solid knowledge of Python or R for data manipulation, scripting, and automating workflows.
- Understanding how to connect business processes to data, what business requirements are, and how the business wants to use the data. It is the mindset the client seeks (50%-50% split between tech skills and business acumen).
- Experience developing and supporting integration, semantic, and modeling data layers.
- Understanding of version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD practices, including managing table schema changes and maintaining data contracts to ensure stability and traceability in production environments.
- Understanding data quality management, including validation, cleansing, and transformation.
- Familiarity with data security, compliance, and governance standards to ensure secure and compliant data handling.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work cross-functionally to support data initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data workflows that integrate data from multiple sources into data lakes or data warehouses.
- Manage and improve data infrastructure to ensure efficient data processing, storage, and accessibility. It includes building scalable and reliable systems to support analytics teams.
- Work closely with data analysts and data scientists to understand their data needs and ensure that the necessary infrastructure is in place to support analytics and business intelligence projects.
- Optimize data pipelines and queries for performance, ensuring that data retrieval and transformation processes are efficient and scalable.
- Implement data validation and quality checks to ensure that data is accurate, consistent, and ready for analysis. Develop processes for data cleansing and integration.
- Collaborate with data analysts to ensure that the data infrastructure supports the creation of reports and dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or custom reporting solutions.
- Automate manual data processes and workflows to increase operational efficiency and reduce errors. Develop reusable data transformation scripts and pipelines to streamline analytics tasks.
