The Consultant provides year-round strategic consultative services with an integrated focus on the UnitedHealthcare Value Story by analyzing health plan performance to support UnitedHealth Group's position as a trusted advisor and carrier of choice.

If you are located in NC, SC, MD, DC, VA, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. This role supports complex employer groups within Local Markets, generally within a geographic region.
  2. Creating client-specific insights and content for various client engagements.
  3. Presenting parts of client engagements as determined by the Strategist based on client needs, resources, and development opportunities.
  4. Focusing on insights and storytelling, distilling compelling and actionable insights from data and reporting.
  5. Navigating data, tools, and resources to tell a story with actionable insights.
  6. Deep knowledge of adopted and proposed client solutions.
  7. Collaborating with market strategic team members and other internal partners to solve complex analytic needs.
  8. Providing feedback to colleagues to support talent assessment, career planning, and growth.
  9. Working with the broader Account Management Team (AMTs) to serve as a strategic analytic subject matter expert.
  10. Communicating information professionally as a strategic consultative subject matter expert.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years in a customer-facing role, preferably in sales, account management, TPA, or consulting.
  • Knowledge of healthcare cost and quality topics, and awareness of industry trends.
  • Intermediate or higher skills in Office 365, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Presentation skills, preferably with senior audiences.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% depending on customer needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in data analytics, data science, statistics, or underwriting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; virtual presentation experience.

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually, based on full-time employment and various factors such as location, education, experience, and certifications. UnitedHealth Group offers comprehensive benefits, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contributions, subject to eligibility.
