Job summary

UPL’s OpenAg Center in RTP, NC has an opening for an Analytical Scientist to support analytical chemistry resources for lab and field operations. The role emphasizes the characterization and development of new technologies and requires collaboration with Global Research Leads.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry or molecular biology with strong chemistry background.
  • 2–5 years of experience in chemical analysis, method development and validation in a regulated industry.
  • Proficiency with HPLC, MS, NMR and analytical biochemistry techniques; data analysis software a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analytical evaluation of active molecules and formulations using advanced instrumentation.
  • Design and implement MOA elucidation strategies for new technologies.
  • Monitor regulation of gene and protein expression.
  • Identify MOA gaps and collaborate with Global Research Leads to fill them.
  • Support product registrations with regulatory agencies.
  • Develop methods for impurity evaluation in manufacturing.
  • Mentor junior chemists as needed.
