Description

The Analytical Sciences Technician works with a group of laboratory professionals to support various projects across the organization by delivering accurate analytical testing of dairy ingredients and fermented products using a wide range of laboratory techniques. The Analytical Sciences Technician reports to the Analytical Sciences Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, label, and document samples according to the standard procedure.
  • Perform routine, semi-routine, and complex duties associated with various aspects of analytical testing according to the standard laboratory procedures.
  • Prepare reagents, buffers, and samples.
  • Maintain accurate records and report test results in a timely manner.
  • Clean and maintain all glassware and equipment.
  • Operates laboratory equipment as detailed in the laboratory procedure.
  • Participate in training to improve the accuracy, precision, and efficiency.
  • Perform other laboratory tasks when needed.

Schedule and Travel

Typically, work days are 8 hours, Monday through Friday beginning at 8:00am. Occasionally, work hours might be adjusted to accommodate project schedules. Travel is not required.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or a related field.
  • Excellent laboratory skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Basic computer, including Microsoft Excel, and math skills are preferred.
  • Ability to work as a team member and independently.
