Client Overview:

Our client is a leader in developing and manufacturing advanced antimicrobial technologies for medical and consumer applications. They specialize in innovative anti-infective scientific pipeline and are committed to innovation, safety, and regulatory excellence.

We are seeking an experienced Analytical Quality Control Scientist to support the testing and release of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products in a regulated biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or medical device environment.

This role is ideal for a hands-on quality professional who combines strong laboratory skills with meticulous documentation practices and sound scientific judgment. The Analytical QC Scientist will perform analytical and physical testing, coordinate laboratory samples, conduct visual inspections, and support investigations into nonconforming results or materials. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining product quality, ensuring GMP compliance, and supporting the delivery of safe, reliable products to patients and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform analytical and physical testing of:
• Incoming raw materials
• In-process materials
• Finished products
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including:
• Spectrophotometers
• pH meters
• Calorimeters
• Calipers and other physical measurement tools
• Coordinate the receipt, identification, handling, and testing of laboratory samples.
• Review samples and test materials for appropriate identification, condition, and traceability.
• Conduct visual inspections using light boxes with white and black backgrounds or screens.
• Accurately record test results, observations, calculations, and conclusions in accordance with approved procedures.
• Follow GMP requirements for laboratory operations, equipment use, testing, data integrity, and documentation.
• Identify atypical results, testing discrepancies, and potential quality issues.
• Write and support Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) and related investigations.
• Participate in root-cause analysis, impact assessments, and the development of appropriate corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready laboratory environment.
• Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to resolve testing and material-related issues.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• At least five years of industry experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or another regulated manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience performing GMP laboratory testing and maintaining compliant documentation.
• Hands-on proficiency with:
• Spectrophotometry
• pH testing
• Calorimetry
• Physical measurements using calipers
• Experience conducting and documenting visual inspections.
• Experience supporting or authoring Nonconformance Reports and investigations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
• Ability to follow controlled procedures and work effectively in a regulated quality system.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting quality control testing in a cGMP manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with laboratory investigations, atypical results, and nonconforming product or material processes.
• Experience with laboratory instruments, equipment logs, calibration requirements, and controlled forms.
• Working knowledge of FDA, ISO, or other applicable quality and regulatory expectations.
• Experience in a contract manufacturing, medical device, combination-product, or high-growth biotech environment.
