Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Scientist I to join a growing pharmaceutical organization in Greenville, SC. The Scientist I will support analytical testing, sample preparation, method validation, and method transfer activities within a cGMP-regulated laboratory environment.

This role is ideal for an analytical chemistry professional experienced with HPLC, Empower software, and pharmaceutical quality control testing of raw materials and finished products.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemistry or related field.
• 4+ years pharmaceutical QC or analytical testing experience.
• Experience with method verifications, validations, and transfers within a cGMP environment.
• Proficiency with HPLC chromatography and Empower software; Agilent HPLC experience preferred.
• Knowledge of FDA-regulated laboratory operations, cGMP, USP <1225>, USP <1226>, ICH Q2(R2).

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical sample preparation and extraction of target analytes from raw material and finished product matrices.
• Execute analytical testing using HPLC, GC, and related instrumentation while evaluating extraction efficiency and matrix interferences.
• Author, execute, and summarize method verification, validation, and method transfer protocols and reports in line with USP and ICH guidelines.
• Utilize Empower chromatography software for data acquisition, processing, reporting, and audit trail review.
• Maintain complete cGMP documentation including notebooks, SOPs, data review, and data integrity.
• Support investigations, forced degradation studies, and routine testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
