POSITION DETAILS

Note: Position could also be placed as a Supervisor Trainee based on experience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Implement and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system
  • Oversee laboratory personnel, ensuring understanding of their duties and responsibilities
  • Provide direction and feedback, perform evaluations, and assist in growth development
  • Interview, select, and support the promotion and transfer of lab employees
  • Ensure training and safety of chemists, and optimize job utilization
  • Exercise sound judgment and maturity to respond to problems and make decisions
  • Make timely decisions about batch products, including calculations and corrections, coordinating with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Division
  • Assist in troubleshooting testing equipment and lab issues, finding logical solutions
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, lab methods, policies, and procedures
  • Oversee test results and documentation, ensuring accuracy to support production
  • Ensure tests meet precision, accuracy, and timing specifications
  • Prepare disposition recommendations and conduct audits (Lab Methods, GMP, Safety)
  • Support budgetary goals, managing labor, expenses, and material use effectively
  • On-call support during weekends for lab and manufacturing support
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, food technology, or related field, or 5+ years of laboratory experience in a regulated industry (food, pharma, medical devices, cosmetics)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards for infant formula and nutritionals
  • Knowledge of food processing, laboratory procedures, testing, and statistics
